Want to experience Horton Center, but only have a couple days?
This camp is for you. Although designed for several days, we
reaelize that time away from work is hard, so this year, as part of our
stimulus program, you can come for one night, two nights, three nights
or all 4 nights. Each day the camp staff will offer many
different programs that may interest you. Maybe you want to go
hiking, or swimming, or tie dye a t-shirt. Or maybe you need a
few hours on Madison Porch with a good book (while your kids are hiking
or swimming) While having children is certainly not a requirement
of attending this weekend, whole families from grandparents to
preschoolers are welcome. Register

Young Adult/
Reunion Weekend $40 per person per night
A strange happened last summer. We ended up
with a few days where the camp might have been empty. A message
went out "If you want to come, please do." Former staff members
and campers, young adults (in age up into their 50's), friends and
others came to camp. We rock climbed, we swam, we had vespers on
Chapel Rock, and a great time was had by all. This year, we
decided to schedule this event. If you are a former camper or
staff member, are a young adult (you define that yourself), and are
lookng for a weekend, or even just a night or two to get away, this is
your camp. Come join us for lots of fun. Register

General Star
Gathering(UCC) conferences info
The Star Gathering conferences on Star
Island are operated by a separate organization - the Star Island,
United Church of Christ, Inc. (SIUCC) – and are open and welcoming to
all. Each conference has a themed program and a Minister of the Week
with topics that can range from storytelling to hospitality to
interfaith perspectives to how to interpret Jesus’ message for today.
There are worship services in the 100 year old stone Chapel,
intergenerational games on the front lawn, activities such as yoga, tai
chi, basket making, talent shows, age old traditions like Star Island
softball and more throughout the week. Running concurrently with the
Star Gathering conferences are the Star Gathering Youth conferences
which are open to youth entering 9th grade through those who
have just graduated from high school. Our goal is to create a community
where you can learn, live, and relax for a week while meeting new
people, hearing new perspectives, and creating life-long
friendships. Come join us! www.starisucc.com
